The Center for Language Education and Cooperation under China’s Ministry of Education (MOE) recently announced the list of approved projects for the 2022 “Chinese Bridge” Online Group Exchange Program. SXNU’s proposed project, Touring across Shanxi, has been successfully selected. This was the SXNU project to be funded by the Center.

The “Chinese Bridge” Group Exchange Program is a Chinese language and culture immersion initiative organized by MOE, offering young learners worldwide Chinese language courses and cultural experiences. The SXNU project represents a new endeavor in international Chinese teaching and cultural dissemination, and holds significant value for promoting Chinese culture abroad.

Focusing on the distinctive local culture of Shanxi, the project adopts an online format combining Chinese language lessons, thematic cultural lectures, and interactive practice sessions, to present an authentic, objective, multidimensional view of Shanxi. It aims to guide overseas learners in acquiring Chinese language skills while deepening their appreciation of Shanxi’s cultural heritage. The project will be delivered in early January 2023 to students from the Republic of Korea, Vietnam, and Laos, offering one week of online Chinese language learning and cultural activities.
